About Us Leeds City Council's Events Team has one of the largest and diverse events programs in the UK.
Collectively the Team now manages over 70 events per year, attracting around 1,250,000 people. 'Party in the Park' attracts over 70,000 pop fans, while 'Classical Fantasia at Kirkstall Abbey' set in the grounds of the 12th century Cistercian abbey, brings an audience of 9000 people.
Millennium Square hosts the largest outdoor ice rink in the UK, with over 1200 m² of real ice and Christkindelmarkt, the German Christmas Market attracts over 250,000 visitors from all over the UK.
The events team promotes the Millennium Square venue for everything from sell out converts to commercial promotions.
New Year's Eve celebrations; the main Festive Lights Switch-On; the Leeds St. Valentine's Fun Fair; Tour of Britain cycle race and the Leeds marathon are just some of the varied events that are managed by the team. |
